We will provide opportunities for creativity within the Arts for Andean communities
We provide a Platform that and are seeking for an exchange of artistic energy in both directions, bringing the communal art projects into a worldwide context and on the other side inspiring existing art structures in the Andes with international art projects and artistic positions.
This celebrates individual and community cultural identity and its development, connected to particular locations and landscapes of the Andes regions.
Ways of Seeing
Our everchanging world races around us, with or without our consent. We use the arts as a way of investigating our world, our environment, our neighbors or our community. We take the time to truly appreciate the wonders all around us.
Whether it is a piece of rock that has been in the universe since time began, or an amazing insect or a plant that has survived as a species for millenia – each and every one of these things has found a way to reach us and be with us. We are part of all of this, as humanity, part of a mere yet vast collection of electrons that have come together in a confluence of things and enabled us to have the power to be, to wonder, and to discover!
Inspiring Community Creativity and Sustainability
Andean communities have a rich and complex cultural history dating back from perhaps 17,500 Bce with the Cazadores-Gatherers Arcaicos civilization. Today examples of this rich artistic and creative culture are few. The foundation naturally supports and will encourage the continuity of the contemporary cultures in whichever way that it can, dependent on the specific needs of the subject.
Practical skills and Art based workshops addressing the needs of communities are supported. These are led by national and international artists who bring with them their passion for creativity and design which will be passed on to workshop participants, promoting an explosion of creative juice and future potential !
Support for Small Infrastructure
This support of micro infrastructure takes the form of assisting in the design and construction of works to improve aspects of public infrastructure in communities. These could be rather simple or mundane, yet very important for the community, things that have been put onto a shelf at some point or new ideas developed through discussion. These could be solutions for public safety, social wellbeing, community identity that transmute, on the ground, into creative signage, or simple meeting or mustering space.
As we begin a collective journey within the incredibly beautiful and ancient heritage of the wonderful peoples of the Andes, let’s not lose sight of the fact that we are embarking on a journey of discovery and of partnership, we want to all enjoy the arts and celebrate the possibilities afforded us !
