Village Signs

We invite communities to collaborate in designing, planning, and constructing their town's name signage, crafting unique pieces that will stand the test of time. These signs will not only embody the community's identity but also instill a profound sense of pride. Led by artists and supported by expert engineers, the project will employ local talents and labor, offering participants hands-on skill development. Training by local and national craftsmen aims to boost the participants' future prospects. Decisions regarding the location, design, materials, and construction methods will all serve as educational experiences, both practical and intellectual, fostering a spirit of cooperation. The completed signs will reveal the town's established identity through rich sculptural and architectural elements, becoming significant landmarks infused with local heritage. The interpretation of this heritage will be explored in a workshop with the community members, the outcomes of which will be compiled into a published book.
